my car is still faster than every neon i've ever raced...and around here there are a lot of them waiting to race...in fact, i think the neon following up here in connecticut is stronger than in florida. we'll have to race...autox, drag or whatever...you decide.

Im just amazed at how quick everyone is willing to jump on the Neon's suck bandwagon, wait till the end of this year and I can garuntee that a whole lot of you will be eating your words.Chrysler was way ahead of it's time with the GLH(S) models, they got out of it because they needed to make money. They came back with a economical racer that showed alot of people what was up, and now they are going to do it again.

unfortunately for all neon followers the new neon hasn't been released yet. yes, it will have a turbo with 205 horsepower and then it should be respectable...or at least faster. however, i'm not going to base my opinion on a neon that hasn't even made it into production....but rather on the neon's that are already on the road today...

On paper the new Neon or SRT looks good but we will see.

I also don't think this has been a Neon bashing thread as much as it has been a calling out thread. That's always fine with me since it livens up the competitions at the auto-xes.
As has already been mentioned elsewhere auto-x is a combination of both car and driver. A crap car with a great driver or a great car with a crap driver are never going to have the best times at the auto-x.
How well those of us with reasonable hardware and skills will perform can only be revealed on the course.
After all the talk on this thread I'm hoping to see a neon or two this Saturday at the auto-x.
