Thats pretty damn fast!
Fordman I dont know if you have a personal grudge against C5 Vette owners but you have to admit they are great all-around performers. They can outrun many high performance cars that cost 2 to 3 times as much.
Beating someone in a straight line is fine and all but speed in corners is a factor too. The C5 does both quite well.

OR you could buy any number of cars that are cheaper than the Corvette and still do the same thing.

So all I am trying to say is dont put too much faith in what magazines print. Go to the track and it is hard to come buy a C5 that is running under 13.8 any year.

Hey 4.6 power... I met a guy with a stock automatic C5 hard top running 13.4s at 105 at BMP 4 weeks ago...
That 16 year chicks vette is an auto with intake longtubes exhaust and tuning... shes running 12.5s.
I havent seen a stock vette consistantly run 13.8s yet.
But I do agree with you that you shouldnt put to much faith in bench racing... Sometimes they might have shaved the tires or were given a factory freak on purpose etc....
