I was out at the tides last night, fair amount of folks out and about. I did my little mingle walk around to see if anything was out there worth wasting some straight uncut Iowan on. There wasn't a whole lot, a turbo K20 EG hatch, some stroked LS2 goat, and a couple terminators. Nothing really worth while. Anyways there is this one kid, running his flipping mouth out about how he just cracked 475rwhp on his neat little R1 RX7...im guessing at the point it made that number, it was making about 4 ft/lbs of torque as well. Anyways this kid never shut up, bragging about this and that and what a well balanced and superior motor he had built for him. Of course, me and my big mouth has to introduce him to my friend Reality. He wasn't too happy someone slapped him around a little bit and talked down upon his almight car. I finally coaxed him into getting a run set up, even so much so that I really had to work to get him to give me a 3 car lead.

We lined up, and he sat on the little brap braps limiter for a solid minute...(1st gear burnout, wtf?) and rolled up to his spot, I put it into 3rd and got it fairly good. Cat down the street flashes his light and Mr. 7 takes off, I dont even let go of the brake until he is door to door with me. By this time I bet he is feeling good, the guy he raced just fucked the launch, it must be in the bag. I launched and it hooked, he got about 3-4 cars out by the time I hit top of 1st, ganked it into 2nd and started to reel him in pretty steadily, by the top of 2nd I was back at his door, and put 4-5 on him through 3rd gear.
It wasn't anything to have a big head about like he was making it out to be, that thing maybe cracked 400 to the wheels.

Loved it sneakin. Wish i still had my ls1 fd. We could rain down some furry. Oh are you sure about him making 4ft lbs of torque? I thought they made 6lbs of torque modded?

 

Nice kill, I'm guessing it was an FD judging by the claimed HP numbers? What were you running? Car/setup? Impressive, too, in that you didn't even launch until he was at your door. Good one.
