Good old Gainesville ghetto street racing.... With Robster in attendance Team Clusterfuck heads out into the wolderness of Alachua County. Someone said they knew a place...
Well we ended up on a fairly deserted road and got tired of driving so we took over both lanes and did like 3 races. then all TWENTY SOMETHING CARS drove back to Gainesville but one.

I was the first to spout out Who wants a piece? knowing full well Id likely get my ass handed to me but as luck would have it a 240zx pulls up. (Trust me I know there are fast ones but this wasnt).

Our lady of hte evening (some guy) takes the yellow line and signals us to a point and starts us off. He launches getting half a car I dont launch (narrow road pedestrian within 1.5 of me dont need anything bad to happen here) But quickly the Torque Fairy grants my ass some acceleration and I get him on my back bumper. Then half a car... just as I pull a full car he misses third and I accept that concession.
We pull off and oh he has no first gear anymore. As a WRX races an older 240 with a Skyline engine (WRX won) And then the guy who raced me discovers he has NO first OR third.

The group finally decides weve worn our welcome and jets but he can only limp half way back. The guys geta truck to go back and rescue him.

Poor guy was just visiting from Atlanta so I guess hes stuck here until he fixes it.

fog racing is pretty scary. i was waiting for a deer to jump out into my path.

 

no i was there friday and saturday night but i know all the 240 guys. i drive a 97 black 240. i had the only s14a (mean eye projector style headlamps) out there. russ is the one with the purple 240 that fucked his tranny but we got that all taken care of yeah i hear he raced the mustang and broke it i think.

were u out saturday night at the big meet up? i went out to the races but i didnt stay long as my paranoia kicks in and i go on my law abiding way home plus it was late.

robster i hear u drive a 4 door EG civic? only ones i remember honda wise besides the del sol crew was a blue 4 door (was that you?) and a blue hatchie on vx/hx rims.

 

oh and to keep on topic i was at a few lights before the meetup spot on saturday night and there was a white mx6 that was next to me that i had earlier observed hauling ass. i hear him rev then a 90-93 accord pulls up (tan i think) on his right and starts revving the hell out of the accord. they both take off with the light and somehow the accord mustve been a v6 or had some n2o because it got up and got the hell out of there. no spin at all but could have been an automatic maybe :confused:

i didnt launch but the mx6 didnt either (the accord did). the mx6 quickly got on it though as the accord put 2 car lengths on him and me i finally decide to join the fun when im at about 3k in 1st gear and my bumper was at the mx6s driver door. by 3rd gear he was at my drivers door when i decided that i need not go above 80 in the 45 zone! let off and the accord was no where to be found but if i had launched it would have been a different story not bad for stock haha.

oh. i saw that del sol with the rota rims and i saw mannys as well (he posts here sometimes).

i thnk i heard it from honda forum here or maybe someone was talking about your car sometime i just remembered it.

saturday they tried numerous spots. it was quite foggy but there were lots of cars with most being between the high 13 to high 11 second ranges. i went and watched for about 10 minutes then i went home. no matter how much it seems appealing i still cannot street race.

I was the domestic representative Saturday night we finally left about 2:45 and passed FHP on the way out... apparently I called the night at JUST the right time. I just randomly told everyone to leave andthey did.

I wont mention proper names but there were some good races...
I think the sylvia beat an MR2? or maybe the GST... the Mustang beat the GST but lost the whole shot to an Altima (2++ car lengths on the launch!!! and pulled to the rear door by the finish)

the BLACK CAR won against the white MR2?

please correct me I am likely wrong on some of the match ups.
