I caught a light with a blue WRX on Kennedy Blvd he had two passengers I had one his friends ask if I wanted to race I said sure lets go he said he was stock. I just have 96 Z28 with minor boltons and auto which makes my launch good.
We were about to race when I noticed a cop behind us I waived at him not to race and told him look behind us that could have gotten ugly

Well after awhile I saw the cop turn and we got a light no cops this time so we went ahead with the race. He revs his motor to like 5k and when the light turns green he dumps the clutch and gets a great launch he got me by 3ft off the line and when he hit second I pulled about 2 cars it was kind of a short race not even a 1/8mile.

We get another light so he says lets go again this time he got a better launch cause I didnt brake torque my car for the launch he got about a car on me at the end of the intersection then I pulled about a car and a half on him and we stoped cause of a light. He was cool he said earlier he beat a WS6 and something about his clutch starting to go. WRX would make a awesome stoplight race car with a couple mods that would help its pull after second gear.

doubt he beat a WS6 if he is stock.. im a little modified and i cant pull on Formula-WS6 from TR.. but nice runs anyhow.. and your right.. $1000 will make the WRX a great little stop light racer.. but the clutch/tranny is the part you need to be careful with.. people are used to being able to dump it into 2nd gear and chirp the tires.. on the WRX drivetrain if you dont allow a little bit of slippage the slack in the drive train will shred your gears.. specially if you have more power than stock..

i want the RT Spec kit from Cobb tuning.. $4800 and 12 second time slips.. about 320 HP...

 

Good kill. I also doubt that guy beat a WS6 in a stock WRX.

 

Yeah he wouldnt beat one in the 1/4 mile but I do think he could give one a good run in a short race which is what I think he did but I didnt get a chance to talk long.

 

BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAA.. aaron raced a wrx. unless he raced zate i dont know. whatever..

i test drove a wrx and wasnt impressed with the go power..

 

yeah Kyle.. as a stock car.. WRXs are super super impressive..but they have SO much potential..and.. its also how you drive it.. they are a little different to alot of cars..

i drove a Mustang GT a week ago.. blah..gutless as anything.. i havent driven an S4 yet.. but i have driven my friends chipped a4 (220 Hp and 250 Ft/lb) and it didnt feel as fast as my car.. the power comes on alot differently.. he and i have raced on veterens and from a launch.. about even till third froma launch and froma 2nd or 3rd gear roll i pull a little..

WRXs are nice cars with $2000 put in them.. low 13s then.
