Default Another Thanksgiving kill

Looks like yesterday was a good kill day for TR members. I see two Honduhs got beat and I got a Chevy. On my way to work an '85 IROC thought he was gonna have his way with me on Gandy heading east. As we got through that light after the US19 overpass we hit it from a 60 roll. By the time I got to the 275N exit I had a bus+ on him. He was heading east on Gandy but decided to followed me up the ramp. He had to slow down to make that curve and I just held it at 100 all the way through. I was at the bottom and already out of it, rolling down to the flow of traffic as I merged, and he was just coming around that last part of the curve. LOL! After a bit, him and his mullet did a ricer fly by and took the first exit. As he passed, he flipped me off without looking at me, I guess he didn't like the fact that I waved good-bye when we hit it. I know he had exhaust but that's all I could tell, oh and what looked like a 7" monster tack too, damned thing was almost as big as a dinner plate.

seeing you say 2.5l of fist pumping fury ill take it that you have a scooby... you beat a 85 Iroc, i should hope so too. Since a Camaro was never offered till later on with a 350 it was probally a 305 so it had a woping 180 crank hp. Race a real car that was built within the last 5yrs and then come back to post about it.

Like I said, he started it, not me, I already knew what the outcome would be. He was looking to pick on the little jap car with the loud exhaust with his "American muscle" and got his ass spanked instead. I know his type, deal with them all the time, hell I use to be one (minus the mullet) when I had my Mustang. Now I have a 1993 MX-6 V6 with a JDM swap and a couple bolt ons, and btw have beaten way better than that IROC.

I posted that in a hurry and left out part of the story. I saw him coming up in my mirror and didn't think anything of it. I was just driving to work, minding my own business. Then he pulls up next to me, gives me this smug look, down shifts and hits it. At that point for me it was game on once we got past the bit of traffic ahead of us. I found the whole thing humorous, especially the part where he tried to keep up with me over the on ramp/overpass and couldn't come close, even with me not pushing it. And then had to do a ricer fly-by with his "American muscle" and mullet blowing in the wind. I guess you had to be there, because that shit was funny.

Oh, and that year IROC came with a 305 rated at 170 at the crank. Then take into consideration any mods he had plus age and mileage on his motor. My little V6 is only rated at 200 at the crank, not that impressive at all. I'm gonna hit one of the dyno sessions at Pete Stop soon and I bet I'm only putting about 170 to the wheels.

At introduction, three 305ci engines were available. The RPO LG4 was rated at 155hp and included with the Z28, or optional with Berlinetta or Sport Coupe. The RPO L69, rated at 190hp, could only be ordered with the IROC package and only with a manual transmission. It was discontinued during the model year. RPO LB9, rated at 215, had tuned-port fuel injection and was optional with both standard Z28s and IROC Zs. But RPO LB9 could be ordered only with automatic transmission.

reguardless it was slow

also keep in mind they weighted 3200-3800lbs pending options. I would think your mazda weights 2400-2800lbs.

I was just checking out thirdgen.org and you are correct, if it was an '85. Looking at some pictures, it could have been up to a 1992, hell I'm no Camaro expert, '85-'92 all look alike to me. Even if it was a '92 it still was only was rated at 230hp.
