2 Civics vs Pasco Road

Well turns out only one person wanting to go for a drive tonight. So Gary and I took Integrachicks advice and the advice of some others to hit pasco road. Before I discuss the drive I got a few slight complaints against pasco road its slightly narrow not much runoff room bumpy and some big potholes in certain places and aslo too many houses in some parts I was a little scared the rednecks were going to use my car as target practice. Anyway Gary and I met up and took the drive up there. We pull onto Pasco road and stop to chat for a few seconds. As soon as we pull up none other than a nice black cat crosses our path. We proceed ahead anyway. Being the first time on the road I was a little conservative back end only wanted to step out a couple of times. I exited more on the inside of the corners so in case i did lose control I would have a little bit of runoff room. So we make it through the first time without incedent. We try to find a few other roads in the area without any luck though. So we do what any other normal driver would he wants to get sideways we turn arond and go back to pasco road. We hit the first few corners then as we were entering a sharp left hander I notice the back end of Garys car start to step out slightly and quickly noticed why. Mid corner there was a change in the pitch of the road just as you exit the apex. My car already has oversteer and doesnt need the help of off camber slopes in the road. As I see his car slide out a little I only had enough time to respond considering the car is an FF if you have oversteer to gain control of it there is one thing to do an it just doesnt feel natural. If I let off the gas in mid corner the back end would come out the off camber of this curve was going to make the back end slide out so I did the only thing I could do I countersteered and got on the gas even more letting my front tires pull me through. It just doesnt feel natural when the car is spinning to hit the gas. The back end could have easily done a 180 if I would have let off the gas but since I didnt the car had a nice drift from mid corner all the way to the entrance of th next curve I piloted my car through the S like a mugen drift king. We hit a few more curves and we pull over to chat. Gary challenged me to a drag race with my adrenaline still pumping I didnt even think about a fair way to start the drag race I just dumped the clutch and took off I dont think he was ready as I instantly jumped a car length on him and I was already a half car length ahead of him before the launch. He hung (drifted) on my back bumper till about 50 or 55 before letting off to put a safe distance between us through the curves. we then hit the long sttraight and I wound out 2nd 3rd and put it in 4th at about 90 (I know I know I could have taken it higher but its not like I had enough room to wind out 4th)I look up ahead to the sign for the curve and look to the left oh shit I see headlights first thing I think is 5.0 and I nail my brakes well Ill be a monkeys uncle cause those headlights they werent on the road we were on they were on I-75 I get back on the gas and head towards the curve I start to hit my brakes and oh fuck BRAKE FADE Im standing on the brakes and nothing nada zilch so I prepare for the worst and pilot the car to the edge of the road as far to the right as possible I am still on the brakes and still nothing I enter the turn and yank the wheel to the left car slides slightly all the way to the outside edge and I just miss going off road by inches. My stomach fills with butterflies as I just entered a curve that I would normally enter about 40 and I entered it about 50. We pull up to the stop sign and my brakes work this time arrrggghhhh. We pull into the flying j drive through truck city and stop to talk about our adventure and other miscillaneous car stuff. Fun night wish some more of yall could have showed up. All in all I killed Pasco road and so did Gary but theres still plenty of more curvy roads around here that I dont know about yet who wants to show me the way next week?

like I said the first drive through was somewhat conservative it was conservative because I didnt know the area I was getting a feel for the surface of the road and I was checking for people walking around. In the areas where there were houses we were slowing down much more and where we dragged race was a desolate area. I think I probably counted at least 3 and possibly a fourth pothole 3 of them swallowed me the first time through.

oh dont get me wrong its a pretty damn good kick ass road for florida its one of the better ones Ive been on in this state. If that road didnt have any houses on it and those few pothills filled in I would give it a 8 on a 1-10 scale but with the houses Id only give it a 6 and those pot holes bring it to a 5. http://www.dealsgap.com well I havent driven on it but from what I hear and see of the pictures that would be a 10 easily. Anybody know some good roads in the middle of nowhere around here?
