dsm vs z28
driving down dale mabry when i see a z28 on my right side. we catch a red light and im on the far left lane and hes on the right. i look over to see if hes wants to go but i cant tell. light turns green i roll out and hear him spinnning i punch it look over to my side and hes not catching up im walking away from him i slow down because of another light but this time we meet up with traffic. as traffic was moving he got out in front of me and hes itching to get an open area to gun it i follow him and finally switches lane and guns it then i switch lanes and gun it too. from his rear i quickly get up to his driver door and slowly start to pass him. when i looked over i had him by a car and half then looked at the speedometer and realized i was going 125mph(time to slow down).
nice kill

how can u tell? i know it was like the ones now but with a pointed front end not rounded
The 98s(first year of LS1) had a differ front end. Behind the lights there was a rounded part almost like the light shape extending onto the hood. The 97s were just a flat coffee table across the whole hood. Did that make sense?
j/k

so is that the difference between a LS1 and a LT1?
well appearance wise thats the difference. But the motor is different. The LT1s I believe came rated at 285hp but I think they were alittle higher. The LS1s were a huge improvement. They have around 340hp. Very impressive from the factory. DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors. -Mark
