A kill for the 98 GT
GTI's are not the fastest things out there, because they were not designed for it, but they are fast for what they are.
I took my 03 GTI to the 1/8th and ran 9.2 at 76 mph and was spinning tires through 1st gear, i am sure i can get high 8's if i get better tires. All i have done is tuned chip and exhaust. Pretty quick for just 2 basic mods and the price I paid for it and fuel economy(27 around town)

Maybe I'll make it back out there one of these days.
As far as the original kill story... I'll just say when someone insists on only going from a roll or dig I tend to make assumptions.
- The person that only runs digs has an underpowered car and sticky tires, and tends to use traction as a crutch.
- The person that only runs from rolls has an overpowered car, weak tires, or is an inexperienced driver, and tends to use traction as a crutch.
I see a lot of both of these mentalities on this forum. Either way, there's something to be said about a car that's fast from both digs and a roll.
