What a blast... me a bmw 7 series and a late model vette. It was not an all out race more than a test of driving skill. Three lanes 3 cars and light-moderate traffic. We all caught a light where the Hills/Tampa rd join.. There are a couple of cars in front of us but all three cars were next to each other. Me and they guy in the Vette were talkin for a few sec while they guy in the BMW was trying to get in on the conversation. We took of hard after we let the traffic get ahead of us( people behind were pissed) then were off neck and neck to 60 then the fun started. We hit the traffic and weaved in and out just like the video game never got to any high speeds but was a lot of driving in and out to get the opening to take off. It lasted for about 3 miles then the BMW turned right while me and the Vette lined up at US19. We were laughin about how much fun that was and were gonna go agian but a PCSO came up on us just as the light turned green. Oh well it was fun while it lasted.

 

Oh Test of Skills racing as I have always called it! That is one of my favorites! Having the fastst car doesnt always matter in this type of racing. My SHO was the best TOS race car I ever had! Glad that you got to have some fun!

 

Things needed for TOS racing

1. GOOD brakes
2. Strong motor
3. Good tires
4. Sway bars
5. Knowing when close is too close

I used to be a pro at this when I lived in Port Richey and worked in St Pete driving US19. I saw a lot of accidents and since then Ive really chilled. Best TOS person here is Acme - dood is CRAZY!

 

I agree guys by far way more fun than a 1/4 mile run. My car seems very well set up for this kind of fun.

 

Yeah tos is fun for awhile me and craig have some good war stories from our delivery jobs together but guys nuthin beats a bike for weaving because we can fit BETWEEN cars. Although a bike is useless at weaving in the friggin rain thier handling gos sub-buick level as my bike is crazy scary in the wet.

 

Thats the type of racing that gets me scared especially if Im not driving. But its all about having a Civic HB or CRX for weaving through traffic. Easier to fit into tight openings.
