i see a black 64-67 nova im next to him
he gets on it to much traffic to race
i pass him.he gets on my tail i get on it a couple times to entice him.we catch a light.
he rolls down the window ans asks if i wanna
back track to noname St. and run him.i said ok
he asks if im spraying. i say nope.he then proceeds to tell me that i dont have a chance. i said we will see
then we turn around. drive for about 2 miles back to the spot.we did it from a 2nd gear roll (5000 rpm hahahahah).i look to him and
offer him the move (im a nice guy) he gets on it .... so do i.i immedetly jump a car on him(no chance ??) and slowly pull another by 5th. we pull over the guy searched my car for 10 minutes for nos.
he tells me that his nova has a built 350
with 400 hp we talked for a bit longer
and then parted after the race he was respectful to the crx

unfortunately owners of classic V8 muscle swear that by slapping on a set of heads automaticaly gives them 400hp... it takes a whole hell of a lot to squeeze that much out of a 350.. hes probably getting 300 maybe 350hp max.. 1hp per liter is not a badly built motor at all. ive built a few for circle track cars and THOSE are making 400+hp but to put one of those in a street car would be awful to drive everyday... but nice kill none the less.

Yeah that guy in the nova was probably using what we call Chevy Horsepower which like Ford Horsepower seem to be about equal to 65-75% of a real (Mopar) Horsepower. Therefore his 400 CHP would roughly equal about 275 or 300 MHP.. This is a well documented and widespread phenomenon..
