Youre forgetting one point I dont know of an import that weighs in at 2200lbs. Thats VERY light for any car. Most imports are actually not too much lighter than most domestics maybe a couple hundred pounds at most but certainly not enough to overcome a nearly 100hp deficit. Also you have to have the torque to get it all moving which is one reason why my car will always accelerate better.
Sorry to dissapoint yall but I do live near Atlanta a friend of mine was reading this and suggested I check it out. I just had to throw up the flag.

You have to remember that horsepower does not get you moving torque does. When I had my old 89 GT Mustang (when stock) Id kill people. 225 hp but 300 ft.lbs of torque. And thats all at around 2000 rpm too. The therory of horsepower to weight in the quarter mile in relation to how much horsepower one needs to keep up is highly flawed. You can throw out set horspower numbers but that would be assuming that they all had off the line torque. Look at a Honda S2000. Lots of high end hp and low weight. Try to launch that car off idle and see how fast it bolts off the line. Youd see the taillights of a Park Avenue. Most 4cyl cars make massive top end power (when modified correctly) and low end torque is not their forte.

my wifes mustang is a 98 with 225hp? 285ft/lbs? auto trans and 3300lbs my passat is 200hp? 245ft/lbs? 5sp and 3050lbs. Idont have a dyno but the passat numbers are based on what APR says and my memory is fuzzy on the 98 mustang. I dont know the rear end she has in her car but its the slowest gt ive ever been in.

Bart Brys civic is fast I raced him awhile ago. His car launchs well and can beat most v-8s off the line except me
But once we got going he started to pull me slowly.
He has a impressive Civic.
I have raced some new Mustang GTs he would have no problem with one of them.

Bart99GT what Third world country have you been living in? You seem to forget its not the old muscle car days anymore and things have changed a lot. Learn a little facts before you start talking about things you dont know anything about. Do what 4sfed said and come to Desoto drag way Saturday night so I can personally hand you a 4-banger beating... P.S. I think another Mustang is going to get beat!!!!
