A friend and I decide we're going to head out last night to see if we could find any more trouble to get into like the previous night.
Run around watch some newbs almost kill each other out at CCIS, watch an Evo and STi show everyone how they cannot drive, etc. Nothing real spectacular.
As the cops show up at CCIS we head out to BSIS and come across a nice sportbike. As the light turns and the straight part of the onramp to the track begins the bike pops up on one wheel and rides it out for a nice amount of time before having to make the turn. He gets on it a bit when the track finally starts, and I put KITT in persuit mode.
We start pulling ever so slightly on the bike before he lets out of it. He looks behind him, nd to his surprise, there I am. Having to put a lot of pressure on the brakes to avoid making him a permenant fixture of the track. He switches over to the left lane and paces me. I drop to third, and in a beautiful sweet spot of 3500rpm.
Just as I put on the brakes to raise the boost I hear a bad sound... "KA Band detected". Oh shit... I motion to the bike and point to my radar, he gets the hint and we calm shit down.
Well about 30 seconds up the road, there he is. Mr. Ociffer waiting for us. At this point we're both doing under the speed limit, so I hoped we'd be safe.
Wrong.
The cops pulls out and gets behind the bike, and pulls him over.
Damn, shitty luck I thought...
Well from out of nowhere comes some very familiar headlights. Fuck, I thought... maybe he clocked the bike and not me.
Wrong. He slams the gas and comes inches from pitting the rear of my car through his windshield. He throws the lights on, and proceeds to pull me over.
Damn...
He was ok about the whole thing. Of course we weren't racing. So there's nothing there, but apparently we were doing 30+ mph over the speed limit at one point. Which apparently since Oct. 1st is a mandatory court date.
Yay.
And as always this is of course a ficticious story

Aparently there was a cop patrolling the road some ways behind us. Which is who actually clocked us.
And for those of you who think radars are the end all. Keep in mind, that if it's going off. Someone's already been clocked. In our case it was us. A radar isn't going to alert you before you get clocked, only after.

see...no one believes me when i tell them 30+ is a mandatory court date and you CAN NOT have the points withheld. they all think its some bullshit thing i heard from a friend...like stop signs with white trimming is an optional stop sign.

yeah the radar detector picks up the laser thats shot at your car. so when it goes off you are already clocked. I thought some radar detectors shot out its own laser to scan for police radars that are flying through the air, like intercepts the radar without the radar actually hitting your car?

No. Radar detectors are just that. If there is a radar signal that has hit that detector, it goes off. It's not always you they're clocking, but if you're the only one on the road, or the cops tag you directly. radar detectors do you no good.
