hey man, I believed you then My brother had an LT-1 with just long tubes and Y-pipe that ran 13.4x@100mph like clock work. Problem is, even with his less-than 300whp, he chewed up those 4L60-E trannies like a dog eating peanut butter. He bust like 3 in 8 month inervals. He even had the convertor re-stalled, B&M shift kit, and Kevlar clutchs.

I think twice he cracked the forward clutch drum.

Just cause I rock the socks off a neon, doesn't mean I'm one diamental. I started in a fox 5.0 5-speed. Did motor swaps, blowers etc. My brother thought me how slow 94-95 mustangs were, then after it got repo'd the 3rd time he got a 95' camaro and show'd me "chevy power" and how to spend 4 hours doing spark plugs. Then I built a hybrid turbo civic, which had nitrous for a year before going turbo. And then I needed a new car b/c my POS auto focus was about to come apart in 10 different ways. Got a great deal on the neon, and I'm like one of the only 2-3 people in the country to run 11's on the stock turbo without nitrous.

BUT... The "my-LT-1" is pretty fast from a dig, from what I've seen/heard. I just couldn't live with the 4L60-E. One of the reasons I bought the SRT4 was b/c I knew I could make good power, and I knew it had an almost bullet-proof drivetrain. I'm good with motors, but HATE drivetrain stuff...

You going to something upgraded or just a rebuild ? My brother was paying about $1000 a rebuild, but he didn't have any hook-ups....

My motor mount really was snapped that night. Its like the 5th time I've broken that bolt...

Ramble off....

Dang balla !! Good choice, better to go ahead and do it right the first time, I'm sure your car would chew threw stock ones pretty often.

Just wondering... How much $$$ ? I don't have a F-body or anything, just wondering what a built tranny would cost...

Too late... In the time I've been running the sourskittle, it truely has been as stock as I said it was... But... Times change, should have another 30whp in the mail in the next few days along with the clutch, bigger DRs and lightweight wheels... I'm expecting to be asked to leave next time I goto BMP.... Should make right at, or EXTREMELY close to 400whp without the nitrous... Prob. 450whp on the bottle/100shot ( I have to drop a lot of timing to use the nitrous ).

In pump gas mode, should make about 350whp off the bottle. Prob. wouldn't run the nitrous without race gas. They say these motors are good for 500whp, but I'm not looking to get a new one anytime soon. If ya ( anyone ) beats me, then ya beat me. I said that about the 100shot, I don't ever plan on going to more nitrous over the .46/26 set-up I have now.

Hummm... Wonder where Jazz has been...

I'm not really interested in beating the RWD V8 crowd, I perfer racing other FWD I-4's from a dig. Most 350whp RWD cars with suspension/315 DRs should be able to make short work of me on the street still...
