Default My track day runs/kills

Well I had a good time but was very dissapointed in how slow my car was running tonight. I need to figure out what the problem is with this pos. anyway moving on.. My first run of the night was against a saturn Ion. We both stage and lights drop. I get out early with a 1.997 60' and just walk the dog shit out of the Ion. I had a good 2.5-3 seconds on it with my 12.462@113.09.
Next run was against the supra powered toyota pickup truck. Light goes green and I am off. I dont know how much I had the truck by as I was too busy trying to get my car down the track. I won but am not sure by how much. I ran my best run of the night against him with a 12.271 @114.62 .
Next up was an orange skittle. I believe it was Chase. Lights come down and i get a decent reaction time of .081, however my 60' sucked with a 2.049 and I crossed the line with a 12.488@113.23 beating him by 2.0677 seconds.
The next run was against some red civic. I dont even know if it was a hatch or not as I didnt pay that much attention to it. I treed him good with a .045 reaction but got a crappy 2.051 60' where I started to notice my clutch slipping. Sure enough all my gears were slipping allitle and I ran a crappy 12.554 @112.96 beating the civic by 2.0906 seconds.
I let the car cool down for close to an hour hoping the clutch would cool off and grab. I line up to a cammed mustang gt. The lights drop and I go .082 reaction and spin to a 2.183 60' and ending up with the worst run of the night with a 12.639 @ 113.82. But I still beat the gt. The clutch did grab do I was glad about that since it is a brand new clutch. I wish I could figure out the problem with my car as it should still be trapping an easy 4-5mph faster than it is. anyway that was my night with my slow pos. Hope everyone else had a good time as well.

For some reason, my car was trapping at 108-109, and three weeks ago, I went to BMP and trapped at 113. This week I ran 100 octane gas and used a bottle heater. I was disappointed, I was hoping to run a 12.3, ended up runing 12.869@109.70, 12.985@108.78,13.133@108.73, and a 13.2@108. I'm still not sure how I lost 4 mph. I did have a good time otherwise, and I thought the track was in great shape. Kudos to Scott.

Did you lose time/mph over the whole run... 1/8, 1000ft and 1/4?

It will get better, seems that times got worse as the night went by because of the 60 foots, but that is the way it is.
The clutch could slip to the point where you don't feel it, but it is slipping costing you a little amount of HP, but nothing to lose sleep over, now when you get it hot and you feel it slipping then you are hurting.
Good luck, I wanna line up next to you so bad next track day, I hope you got a little more than that when we run cause with next track day being 3 months from now and all, Cavy might get quicker.

I dont really plan on doing anything else to the car other than figuring out where I am losing the mph. I am hoping its just the clutch needing to be broke in a little better and maybe some better air. We shall see I guess.

1.9's pretty consistant.. every once in a while i'll pedal it to a 1.8 with a 1.768 being my all time best. My problem is my car is losing power somewhere. hell before my headers and exhaust I was running 116mph. now $2000 later I am running slower. The weather wasnt great either last night but I dont belive that to be why I lost 4-5mph. being at 383whp I should be easily trapping 117-118+. I know on my last tune the car was detonating very bad so I think I am going to pull my plugs and make sure they are all there. then break the clutch in a little more and maybe re dyno it to make sure everything is ok. I am about to give up on this car. Its costing me a fortune and getting slower..

it was very humid yesterday, enough that the grass was damp/wet, so that probably had something to do with it..lsx's are pretty tempermental when it comes to weather.

One thing I've noticed is NOT to powershift into 2nd causing alot of wheelspin... Something is up man, you should be running high 11's. My car seemed to be running good yesterday, I wish I could have attended but my rear tires are almost like slicks now...
