Default One more notch with a s/c cobra

well I have been having serious traction issues in the past month, but never the less, I went for a small drive, and after calling it quites, and heading home, I ran into a 03-04?? Cobra the S/C one. It was silver and sounded REALLY nice. well we almost had a light together but just B4 we came to a stop(20mph) it turned green. I pulled next to him and he goosed it. I called im out by laughing as he pulled out in front. I let him think I wanted nothing to do with him. about a 1/2 mile down the road I pulled next to him and as soon as I did he downshifted and so did I and even had to double clutch it to build boost(going about 40mph) I pulled about 2 cars on him from the go and would of walked him more if we kept on it. We let off at about 90.. I asked him what was done, he said upgraded pully, H/I/E and suspension/DR's The two guys in the car were in shock, and had bigger smiles than me... I told them that from a dig the car is worthless right now untill I get a new suspension setup and tires. But hey I love roll racing for now.. And wont even try a stock mustang or any other quick car for that matter from a dig untill I can work out my traction issues.. Put it this way. with DR's my best 60ft time was a 2.4???? SHITTY SHITTY SHITTY.. Oh well..

besides traction bars and probably stiffer rear springs and shocks, anything else you got planed suspension wise? and how much boost are you running on 1st and 2nd?

I am going with a whole suspension kit,(full coilover system), Im not sure what kind I will be getting but something in the lines of 400lb's in the front and 600+lbs on the rear, also something thats kinda good in price(done have much left) I also have a new 8-point cage that will be going in as soon as I get off my ass. Other than that thats it. Money is kinda scarce right now so I just cant drop 1000K on a new suspension setup. I already spent WAY to much money on the motor.. Oh BTW I am running a manual boost controller so as of now I am running 20psi, on a built sleeved b16 with a custom turbo/fuel kit and a 61mm turbo.. thanks for the comments guys............

around what rpm's do you see full boost, and how does the lag feel around town?

Full boost comes on around 5400-5600RPM, the turbo starts to spool at around 4000RPM. Lag is not bad at all, I like the delay in power, helps a little with low end traction(well kinda ) Driving around town is cew, If I dont want to be in boost I dont have to be. If I wanna drive hard all the power I need is on tap. If I would change anything on my setup it would to get a ball-bearing version of my turbo. other than that, I love everything...

Good kill! Time for an EBC so you can run lower boost in first and second gears. Also, look into M&H DOT's. They will grab better than any other drag radial you have used

I had great traction using the Nitto 555's I ran the 11 with them and had a nice 1.8 60ft time. I was using a set of Kuhmo race compound tire last time at the track and couldnt run lower than a 13.0 at 115?? 60ft times make such a diffrence in 1/4 mile times and MPH..

Jason/60-1EK pulled a high 10 with M&H DOT tires. Cunha pulled a low 10 with M&H DOT tires. They will hook better than the Nitto's you had due to the compound.
