Well, I met up with my friend and headed down to rice night/1320 at bradenton. I called Vince (show5slow) and also met up with him and James (1sad00ss) down there. As I was sitting behind my friends 04 cobra in the staging lanes my battery just takes a shit for no reason. It was completely dead. No slow drain or warning, this fucker just kicked the bucket completely. So we ask a guy in a mustang gt next to me if he wouldnt mind giving me a jump. after several attemps at charging and jumping the battery I got nothing. we tried to push start the car but it was no use, the battery was so dead it wasnt getting any spark. We flag down a guy with a black camaro and ask him for a jump. This time it fires up. I sneak back into the staging lane and James hops in my car to blast down the track with me. The cobra didnt have any passengers. we line them up on the unprepped track and i spin pretty bad off the line (2.2 60') but still get out in front of the cobra and continue to pull pretty good. i could see him out my rear view just about the time I missed 4th gear , I gradually put it back in 4th and finish with a shitty 12.8@106 . The battery was causing all kinds of electrical problems though, I couldnt even turn the head lights on the car wouldnt let me. We get back to James' car and the cobra also missed 4th gear and ended up with a 13 something at 101. We hung out at the track for about another 30 minutes to an hour and decided to go to walmart and buy my car a battery since I couldn't shut it off. We all leave walmart after changing my battery in the parking lot and start heading home. James' SS and my buddies cobra run but I 'll let James make a post on that Since I can't remember the details. Down the road me and James line up at about a 70mph roll. our cars are so loud next to each other that I couldnt hear if he was honking so i start to honk. I get half a honk in and james takes off. It caught me by suprise but I quickly follwed suit. He probably had a good 2 cars on me from his jump. By about 130ish I had closed the gap and passed him and let out. I dont know how far ahead i was because I had to change lanes but im sure it wasnt much since it was a short friendly run. James if you honked it off I couldnt hear it . James heads towards st. pete and me and the cobra head back towards tampa, we go for a friendly run starting at about a 65 roll a count to 3 on the nextel and we are off. i imidately pull ahead and keep pulling a good couple cars by 130 when i let out. Then the fun part, some ricers in some hondas come flying up on us. they go around us and slow down to run, they run each other and me and my buddy are laughing at the slowness. it was hard to tell if they were actually racing or just slightly speeding. As soon as we see the flashers we know which one won we decided to have a little fun with these guys. they lines up again and ran but this time i was behind them a good 5 cars, when i saw them take the hit I nailed it and passed them both like they were sitting still, then i through on the flashers to make sure they could still see me that far ahead . well one of them decided he wanted to do a ricer flyby on me as im hitting the brakes. I see this coming so i let off the brakes about the time he catches my rear bumper and floor it, his momentum got him to about my door when i matched his speed and pulled a couple counties on him. I slow down again and he tries the same thing and unfortunatly he got the same out come with my flashers going on everytime for good measure. i finally slow down and hear the persistant bumble bee still trying to get the flyby. this time i slow it down to the speed limit and let him go. As they cruise past me the passenger is hanging out the window flicking me off and yep you guessed it..... I got the hazards thrown on me . Me and my buddy in the cobra were laughing so hard. It was quite entertaining. I finally get to my exit and grab some much craved taco bell (thanks james ) and head home. It was a fun night. i need to mod this thing though, its starting to feel slow to me . sorry for the long read.

edited to add: the 04 cobra is bone stock with a tune. also I was hoping to run ics out there so I sent him a pm but he never responded or showed so I guess he was busy. maybe next time.

James got a pretty big jump on you and you ended up about a half car to a car out in front. The cobra took the hit on James slightly with a half car head start and james passed and put a car on him by 125 or so.

 

yes it was a fun night, its been a while since ive been out.

 

It is funny you mention battery. I go to start my car and battery dead. I had to charge..

 

John-Chris's computer took a shit so i'm guessing that why he never responded,who knows though,it may be a coolant leak

I was there last night. Could not get a good race for nothing in the world. But I new what to expect when I went there. There was a mustang that had a battery die in the staging lines also.

I probably would have brought my car but I was out of nitrous, glad I didn't have any nitrous,

There were probably 200 cars in the staging lanes at any given time.

 

No where near as fast as some of the sick cars on this site but I do have to wear a helmet at the track.
Its just a Galant with a few bolt-ons.
