Its about 9:30PM. There was water on both sides. As I pass the new looking GTI on my right, the driver glances back at me; we make eye contact. He changes lanes and gets behind me. hmmm..... lets see whats going to happen, its been a long day at work. No excuses, Im going too slow anyways. I move over once to the left. clear lane to my right now, all clear out in front. Here he comes, flush next to me. pop go's his BOV, the infamous automotive call of the wild. I drop from 6th back to 4th. Too high, I need 3rd. He heard my downshift and punched it. I knew I had already lost. I needed third so I went for the downshift anyways, so far, the total cost- half a car. Shit, Im already close to redline now in 3rd, Shift_4th.. Now he's got a car.. car and a half. Good kill. I held it down to see if he would still pull away, looked like it could've been a good race. I'm left unsatisfied like a woman with a pre-ejaculative teen boyfriend. I flash him once, I need more, I've never ran a VW. nothing, he's hauling ass. Flash the shit out of him. Nothing. He proceeds to ricer weave through the traffic he caught up to.

I was at a speed where 3rd was too low and 4th was too high. Shitty race for me, good kill for him. I could have benefitted from 3 honks on that one. ces la vie.

Do you know if it was a 1.8t or a vr6? Either way good death.

 

If it had a blow off valve then I'm going to go out on a limb and say a 1.8t.
