RSX vs A Few WannaBe's
First off, Im posting this for my buddy since hes down here on vacation and doesnt have a TR account. He drives a turbocharged 2002 RSX Type S. So I told him, lets go for a ride around town and see what we can find roaming the highways. Half of me wanted to get out of the house, the other half wanted to see just how quick this little 300 whp car is. So were traveling down 19 and the first thing we come across is a new Saturn Red Line. Hes sitting at the light and gives us a glance. Josh (My Buddy) inches up just a tad, to let him know hes game. The saturn revs up, then does a half ass mini launch....at the stoplight. Finally the light turns green, and the Saturn gets the jump....for about two feet. The RSX spooled up quick and put an instant car length by the time we got to the other side of the intersection...then proceeded to humiliate the Saturn. The guy pulled alongside us afterwards and said, "I didnt know that thing was turbo, I wouldnt have bothered"
Next on the kill list was an early 90's 240. Sorry Bret, gotta pick on a 240 in this one. It was a black color with a few primer spots. The guy passed us on East Bay and gave us a little rev as he did. Josh spooled it up and downshifted giving him a little pass. He gave the thumbs up as we pulled up to a light. I asked him what it had done and he said it was all motor and dyno'ed at 235 whp. I made sure he said all motor, I dont know those engines, but that seems a little high for all motor. Who knows. He then asked us and Josh replied "About 300whp..on 9psi." The guy nodded and we waited for the light. it turned and the RSX spooled up leaving the 240 in the dust with no effort. The guy was really cool though so if your on here reading this, nice clean race with no excuses.
Finally, to top off the night...we came across a GT Mustang with a Saleen body kit on it. A very shitty one at that. We pulled alongside him at about 45 and he gave us a glance and smirked. He downshifted and looked back over at us with the same smirk..I signalled for him to go for it. He shrugged and hit the gas...within about 3 seconds Josh caught him and started putting distance on the GT. By about 100 there was close to 5 maybe 6 cars. The Stang then turned off at the next light so no dig run.
All in all, the RSX is a hell of a lot faster than I would have guessed, and Im posting this out of respect for all the work hes done to that little car...and also in part for all the shit we have given him in the past for being slower than the rest. Well...not any more....time to start modding again.

Matt, hopefully you'll make it back out to Buddies sometime soon. Good kills for your buddy. Not to take anything from him and his hard work but a 240 w/ 235rwhp all motor. I do not think that exists in Tampa Bay seeing as that KA motor is like 140 flywheel hp from the factory. If he truely had that type of power being a rwd car he would have given you a run from a dig. Good kills. Bring that turbo out tonight if you come.

hahaha, yeah right. Thanks for all the tips on the kit Alberto, everythings working out fine for him and we just figured out how to make the HKS BOV even louder.

To date I think the highest one I have heard of is about 205rwhp. Don't get me wrong because I know if somebody wanted to invest the money that it is more than possible. However I believe this guy stretched the truth a little.
