Ken Deacon. 11/29/1985-12/19/04
There is no reason that i can think of, that i should not be included in the obituaries this morning. One of my most life defining, and events to re-affirm my belief in we will never know when we may leave, happened a few hours ago, around 2, and i pray no one is harmed by this person.
I was heading down 275 coming home, and a vette pulls up next to me and flexes...i dont do much but i romp it for him once and we exchange thumbs up...well i look over and wave as he is getting off the interstate and im coming up a hill, as i fixed my eyes back on the road i know what a deer felt like. As i had a pair of headlights staring right back at me. My 1st thought was it was someone in the emergency lane giving a jump, so i move to the middle lane of 275 to not give a chance of a close call...well as the road straightened...and me doing about 80, i realize this truck is coming at me head on in the same exact line. i pull the wheel and i dont know how i didnt hit him, but it was inches if it was anything..all im hearing is the front tires screeching and me coming up on a baracade, i then correct and my back end begins sliding around through the emergency lane and im starting to cross lanes again and come to an abrupt stop safe and sound, about 5-10 feet directly in front of the divider that splits 275 and 175(by the trop) and is ~75 in the air.
i dont know what came over me, but i just broke down right there...shuttering, shivering, and fists stuck firmly to the steering wheel and shifter. the emotion still running through me right now is so intense.

Jesus Christ, that sounds horrible, Kenny. I'd say that I'm glad that you're okay, but I know how you are feeling mentally right now But holy shit man, my heart stopped when I read the topic, and I don't even know you.
Damn, what is it with this holliday season and weird events??

i fell asleep and slept decently well, so i think that got rid of the shock of it all, but right then and there, it was insane, like i had to pry my fingers off of the wheel, the muscles were like cramped up into that one position. i mean, i dont know why, but i didnt even run that vette...if i had, i dont think things woulda been the same. i mean if he was doing 20, and i hit him, it woulda been like going into a brick wall at 100.

there was no one around. another reason for me to hate driving late night...if it was mid-day there woulda been so much traffic he wouldnt have made it far.

probably some senile 80 year old looking for walgreens. i still havent found out if the person got caught or not. the headlights looked like S10 headlights, like new body style...other then that, i dunno.
