Well lets see, the 03:

2.0L I4, 8-Valve, SOHC, SEFI engine with a horsepower rating of 115@5200 and a torque rating of 122@2600.

the 89:

Jetta GL models are powered by a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder providing 100 horsepower at 5400 rpm and 107 pound-feet of torque at 3400 rpm

seeing as there is only a 15hp difference and 15 ft/lb torque difference, i think it will come down to weight of the cars....





on a side note, my supra has been down way to long that im resorting to racing the jetta...ho hum
