I was able to get some practice last night with a couple of cars. The first was a 96ish cobra. Not sure of mods other than exhaust. This run was from a slow roll. I had my uncle in the car with me, and I was lucky enough to be able to show him a decent race. The cobra and I were next to each other at a light, I figured he would make a run of it, and I was right. We eased off the light, and about half way through first we both hit it. I pulled about a car up to 70 or 75 mph before shutting down. Then on my way home after taking my uncle to his hotel, I got a run with a black wrx.
I was sitting at a light, and he pulled up next to me. I noticed his HKS sticker just in front of his door. I am asuming that he had a blow off valve, but I am not sure of anything else. We made our left turn side by side, and slowly accelerated up to about 60. He was about to cars in front of me at this point. I dropped the trans into 4th and noticed him hit the throttle so I went to 3rd and nailed it. Then I had to quickly hit 4th. Once I hit 4th I quickly ran him down and past him. I shut down at the top of 4th which is about 110 or a little higher. He pulled back even and we exchanged a nod and he drove off.

 

Good kills, must have been a couple fairly quick cars to keep up with that beast.

 

the cobra ran pretty strong, but the wrx I think was pretty much stock. He basically got a 2 car lead and the hit. I more or less blew by him.

We'll have to get a run in at sunshine pretty soon. I'm getting the new tranny/clutch in next wed, but probably won't make any runs until the following wed to give me ample time to break in the clutch.

What kind of 1/8th mile times do you pull?

 

I usually run 8.1s in the 87-88 mph range. Hopefully I will see some better times with the cooler air.

 

nice kills, thats a pretty quick car to pull the wrx like that, i raced one from like a 30 roll before in my automatic mustang and only put like 3/4 a car on him
