I was originally not going to post this but...the owner said he didn't mind, and just cause all the shit talking in the "srt-4 vs STi" thread I figured I might post it...

was heading home last night and I saw what looked like a trans am pull out of a neighborhood, caught up to it, was white and couldn't tell if it was modded or not...got to the drivers side door and saw that it was brian (67chevelleSS), luckily he wasn't in the chevelle :o , anyway we looked at each other and laughed and go to about 50-55....we both hit it pretty much at the exact same time

by the end of third I was ever so slightly pulling on him and he was about 1/2 car back, shifted to 4th and he slowly pulled back up to me and then we stayed side by side not moving a single inch to the top of 4th (120) and let off, gave the thumbs up and went our own ways...

now when I got home I was disappointed for a couple reasons:

1. I didn't know what was done to it

2. I didn't know if it was an lt1 (which I would've been very upset)

3. I didn't know if it was an ls1 (which I would've been slightly upset figuring that I could beat a stock ls1 but still better than an lt1)

well I PMed him and asked him what was done to it and he said he didn't mind if I posted it up...he said it has "long tube headers and is stock otherwise, but it's a firehawk that comes stock with 340-345 hp"....so now I'm

anyway...awesome race...hopefully I never catch him in the chevelle :o :o :o

That was a very good run, I wanted to keep going to see who would pull harder up top, but no need to get arrested. Plus I had a few drinks in me which wasn't the best idea. Looks like I'll have to sell it now if it can't pull from SRT's.

I dont think anyone really one that race I'd say it was dead even.

yeah, it was a perfect tie...you would have to count down to the centimeters to see who would have won, best race I've had in a long time

Nice race Dan...You race him with high or low boost?? I'm guessing at 19psi. Impressive that you kept up through third gear(Third Gear is Killer in those ls1s)

 

hey koumi, I actually have the boost set at 18 psi now falling to 16 by redline...before it was 19.5 falling to 17 psi...as weird as it sounds, the way it is now is FAR more powerful than before

figured out our stock turbos are really only efficient until about 18 psi...so I turned it down...eureka
