So I am heading across Gandy and I catch up with 2 WRXs. One blue ST1 and an older Black one. The blue one punched it next to me and I beat him by a few car lenghts. What type of horsepower do those things have and how much do they weigh? I was surprised. My buddy has an 02 and I spank him. This STI was a lot quicker.

 

STI has 300 HP and 300 lb/ft. from a dig they've gone into the high 12s stock. a LOT faster than the wrx. good kill.

i saw a mag that put it at 280 to the wheels, that obviously wouldn't equate to 300 at the crank, and it confused the writers. i think with AWD you usually lose 20% to the drivetrain, so that would make 300hp = 240 at the wheels. someone correct me if i'm wrong. and yes, peopel have run high 12's completely stock. now i just need to upgrade from my wrx.

I saw an STi out at 1320 a few months ago ... ran a low 14 in the only run I saw it make. I talked to him before he ran and I told him if he wants to run that low 13 or high 12 he's going to have to wind it up around 5k rpms and just drop the clutch, I guess he didn't take my advice. If those cars are in the wrong hands, they can do some very disappointing things it seems to me.

 

To what? Bigger turbo? NOS? I am going to have a bigger cam put in my LS1 along with a new 3800 stall convertor as well as a 125 shot. Mid to Low 7s 1/8 mile time is what I am shooting for. What do you think?

 

You should be low 7s with good traction with those mods zac. What kind of rear gear are you running?

 

Right now I have 323s in the rear. I think I want a 410. What do you think?

 

4.10s with a 3800 stall is pretty aggressive for a daily driver. I'd probably leave the 3.23s in and just go with the 3800 stall and see how it runs. I know taws6's car has 3.73s with a 3600 stall and it is a bit overboard for a daily driver.

EDIT: kind of funny how all the gear ratios lined up on the left side.
