my boys pos 93 600 ran a low 12 and from a roll makes little dif. unless they had their shoots deployed or maybe they left their gas cap off and got a gallon of water in it

 

yeah thats it... they left their gas caps off and a gallon of water got in the tank as they were cruising down the road..

I'm not going to break your balls on the kills on the bikes but i will on the 160mph. When you have a turbo on a civic like ours then you dont want to be in 5th gear in boost. You will melt something. I ran smoore(yellow nsx) all the way through 4th and put it into 5th for about 10 seconds just to see if i would pull. The most i got to was 150mph. That being said i know you would blow your motor trying this. When you are all motor you can keep your foot on the floor in 5th as long as you want to and you will be fine. Turbo='s HEAT. Good kill but dont try and top it out.

 

what could i mess up and how???? is it just the fact the motor is under constant boost for so long??? ive never heard that before

 

If you took your car SCCA racing around a cone coarse. There would be alot of heat build up from being in boost but not cooling down. When you are in 5th gear you might be getting alot of air but that boost and heat build up from accelerating lets say through 3rd,4th and 5th. When you are in 5th you are not gaining much speed quickly. There for you will get the motor so hot it will melt a piston. When i had my LS tranny with my gearing the car would be capable of 170+. The problem is i could never reach that speed without breaking something. You dont want to race in 5th gear just trust me on this one or you will find out the hard way.
