i was launching at 4200 is what i set my msd 2 step at. but i wasnt spinning i was getting alot of wheel hop. should have launched higher to eliminate that wheel hop

 

just out of curiosity where do you launch at?

 

would not matter he is RWD, thats a big difference, i launch at around 4grand but i have a 3600 stall and weight transfer is a BIG advantage.

 

i was just asking out of curiosity and not to compare cuz i know its totally different. another reason i was asking is because a friend of mine has an 01 gt convertable and launched at 2000 and got a 14.0 @ 99. with a 2.0 sec 60 foot. and taws6 your car is auto correct? and do 5-speed have converters like auto's or is it different? dont know much about rear drive cars thats why i ask

 

correct it is a auto and no they do not make converters for 5-speeds

 

A stall converter is to an auto as a clutch is to a manual.

And I would reccomend you ask this guy, qitstrn (ron) ... he would be the most knowledgable person I know of regarding fwd traction. With your power there still might be something as far as radials go to control it.

I semi dumped the clutch from 4,000 on my slicks. I'll do a 4500 side step next time I go out though :o

 

yea 2000 is where my friend launched at when he ran the 14.0 @ 99, but i couldnt believe he got that good of a time out of a convertable gt completely stock. if i can get my car to run anything 12's i will be completely happy. and i think i'm not that far away.

 

i run 11's all motor.... and well im not all motor anymore
