so in this "dream" i had .....

1 was on my way home about 9:15 last night.. going north on Dale.. I usually turn right at the light before Busch to avoid some traffic.. black WRx in front of me did the same.

So I follow him onto himes.. he turns left and heads towards busch.. same as me.. everytime he accelerates..i am right on his ass..hehe..

yay.. he is turning right onto Busch as I am!! .. i follow him onto busch.. he guns it.. i roll out 75% throttle and short shift to keep about a car back.. and we get past some traffic.. coming up to the 1st light.. and it goes orange.. he gets into the left lane.. leaving me in the right..

I turn down the stereo.. and sure enough.. he is edging forward.. and gunning the engine..i am thinking.. oh great.. he is gonna launch the crap outta me and me with my bald drag radials is gonna get tree'd.. and i wont be able to make up the car or more he will get from the launch.. then i remember my first race in my WRX was against a mustang with DR's that schooled the shit out of me.. so i tack it up to about 1500.. slip it into 1st (instead of 2nd as i usually use with the 4.30s) .. and prepare for the green light.

light goes green.. he launches.. i spin like crazy.. and put half a car on him !!!... wind it though 1st.. and by the time the back end jumps to the right and i get LOTS oif wheel spin from 2nd..i am a car out.. wind it a little in 2nd to prove my point.. and about 45 i slip it casually into 4th and coast..

i am coasting.. trying to be in the leftlane and i gotta turn.. and WRX guy thinks I am slowing to go from a roll.. lol.. which he would have lost worse than from a stop... i give him a friendly wave.. drop in behind him and turn off

he really needs to learn how to drive.. hehe..

car was black.. with a Cobb Tuning licence plate frame.. aftermarket silver wheels and what looked like a MRT exhaust.. good run

 

I have not seen too many WRX's launch very well. They seem to bog. Nice kill though.

 

Go ZATE! You do man. I think you should come over and allow Ken and I to apply some chemical tuning for the Mach...it would be just plain nasty.

Its not easy to launch an awd correctly. I have never had experience with a wrx, but have with a 2.5rs and its definatly a skill that has to be aquired.

I had a chace to race a stang in my dreams last night, but chose not to. He even did a nice big burn out right behind me. (dork) Besides he was a little reluctant to race me when he got a better look at my car. Even though looks and sounds are deceiving.

 

i used to be able to get some pretty concistent 1.8 60 Ft times with my WRX.. they arent really THAT hard to launch..
