I have a 04 Corolla Ce 5spd, bone stock, over-due for an oil change, spare and jack in the car, and my girlfriend(115lbs).
The Cavalier was a newer version, i wasnt sure if it was a z24 or base model. He had no passengers and he was 5 spd.

I forgot what he did but my girlfriend said oohh he wants to race...so i got into the lane next to him at the stoplight. I looked over at him to ask him what he had done but he didnt look over. I started looking around for cops, while i was lookin the light turned green and he was off. I didnt get a launch at all. Just really bad bog.

I heard him chirp 2nd gear. I started to pull on him. I started to pull some more in 3rd gear and pulled about a half a car on him in 3rd. I shut it down around 100 with about a half a car/a car on him.

I get next to him, and i tried to bait him down to about 45 but he was goin 65 so i downshifted to 3rd and honked 3 times but he didnt bite. We continue driving side by side until we hit another stop light. I told my girlfriend to look for cops this time. Again I looked over at the guy but he didnt look over.

I get a really shitty launch (bald front tires) and he had a nose on me at the launch. He shifted out of 1st way before I did and started pulling on me. I'm like wtf? He shifted out of 2nd way before me and keeps on pulling. At the end of 3rd gear he had about a car length on me and around 110 I shut it down with him up by about 2 car lengths.

I have no idea what happened. First race I pretty much pulled on him the entire time, catch up to him and passed him. And the 2nd race he pretty much pulled on me the entire time. And for those who say he wasn't racing the first time, he was..hmmm...all i can think of was he was spraying a small shot. I dont know what happened this sux.

 

should have side swiped him. that always helps me when faster cars start pulling on me.

I think the reason he beat me the 2nd race is cuz we were racing uphill and his 2.2L has much more torque than my 1.8

 

oh and you got bald tires on a 2004?????

yea he came up from behind me in first gear i was just chilling in 2nd. he flew by me and i eventually got back on his ass but he had way to big of a jump and traffic stopped us in 3rd gear. not much of a race
