The regular Cooper is kinda lame, the S is kick ass though.
That Cooper S will whoop arse on the VW on the autocross track though.

 

At the last autocross in fort myers a GTI 337 had the cooper S by 13 seconds. Both are G-stock cars.

 

You are right...lemme re-phrase that...the "S" has the ability to whoop the VW's ass at an autocross...quite handily.
13 seconds! Ouch.....that's quite a spread. Either the VW's driver is very good or the Cooper's driver was very bad.

 

been there, 13 seconds is a lot of time to be comparing two cars with on that course. Must have been drivin miss daisy..

On the national autocrossing level it is a drivers race. I looked up results and usually the VW would beat the "S" by 5 or 6 seconds or the "S" would win by 1 or 2 seconds. So either the VW is a better G-stock class car or VW drivers are better than mini drivers.
