Almost no power below 2500 rpm...Need suggestions
I've been searching since last night, & haven't found anything concrete on passatworld or vwvortex
03 Passat 1.8T auto/tip, 188k miles.
Had issues at first with a ruff idle, checked for leaks, found nothing (sprayed cleaner on all lines & idle never changed), unplugged MAF - no change, cleaned inj - no change, coils, plugs, fuel filter changed - still ran like crap, swapped out upstream o2 sensor with a known good one too.
Just didn't seem right, & I could only think cam sensor, ecu, or timing. So I checked timing first on the crank, then cam to VC marks, all lined up. Pulled the VC off, & intake cam was off a tooth. Adj it, rough idle went away. Removed some vac lines from the thread I found on here, kept some of the PCV components. Car runs better now than before. BUT...I have no power till 2600 rpms, & then it's a burst of power & car runs fine if I keep it above 2500 rpms. I'm going to hook up my boost gauge from my srt & see if I'm not getting any boost at all, but maybe someone with knowledge or experience can give me some hints on what to look for
I'd greatly appreciate it. Just a bit unsafe when I have to floor it & car doesn't want to move till I hit a certain rpm...

didn't do this when it ran like shit, but once I fixed the idle problem (timing off), then this happened. Coils packs, spark plugs are new. o2 was swapped out with a known good one, maf was cleaned (& was told that if I unplug it & symptoms continue it's not that...only thing I haven't replaced is the fpr. Vac lines were pretty much eliminated.
