Default How to fix this pillar?

I apologize about the huge picture, but I would like to know what you guys think would be the best to go about repairing this pillar issue I'm having. When I bought my car, this random section was torn and faded, almost like it got scraped off. I'm not sure what material it was covered with, nor am I sure how it even happened. What would you guys recommend?

Yeah but I don't want to spend $400 on pillars. Maybe I will just have to find a wrecked A3 and grab them off of there.

sand it down...tape it off...and get some trim paint from autozone...spray it down...it will look great i promise....ive done it on previous cars and at some point will have to do it to the jetta....try it.

I may just get some 3M overlay and wrap it. Thanks for the pm smoky, but I don't want to do stick on pillars or carbon fiber.
