Default New to VW Tech

Hey guys,
I just picked up my first VW. It's a 2002 VW GTI 337 in Reflex Silver. The body has 94k miles and the engine 43k. I managed to pick it up for only $2,500. It needs a little bit of work but it should be an awesome car. It will need:
  • Front bumper and lip
  • Driver's side fender
  • Intercooler and map sensor (someone tried liquid nails as repair...pic below will explain everything)
  • Door panels reupholstered
  • Headliner
  • Paint and body repair in a few spots
It comes with:
  • Full Neuspeed Exhaust
  • APR Downpipe
  • Neuspeed swaybars
  • Generic short ram intake
  • ABD strutbar
  • New OEM Clutch
  • Jensen 7" LCD Headunit
  • 18" shot-peened BBS wheels exclusive for the car
On to the pics, this is how the car looked when I picked it up last night:

That's what I was thinking. First order of business is to find an intercooler/map sensor and mount it properly. I managed to obtain an oem pancake pipe from the original owner. Right now there is a 12" long coupler in place of that. I'll post my progress as I go along.

I've got the intercooler and some piping. Also have oem struts if you're looking for those too.

PM'd on the intercooler. As far as the mirrors, they appear to be some slim carbon fiber deal. I do not want them, I'd rather get some OEM ones.

Ok, now that I've looked a little more. Is that a bar of some sort holding the glove box closed?

Door cards are a pretty easy fix if you take your time, you'll just need to pick what color you want them to be.

Ha, I was looking at buying that thing but the ad seemed like it needed more work than they described. The kid listed it as his mothers car... once I saw that and then the shape it was in, I stopped looking. Hopefully you can polish that thing up and make it worth something.

Yep it was his mothers car lol. I managed to seal the intercooler just enough to drive it around the block. It drove perfect until the map sensor separated again.

All the 1.8t GLIs had those wheels.

And I HIGHLY doubt that was his mother's car. Maybe it was registered in her name, but there is no way that thing wasn't beat on by some kid for years.
