Passat VR6 fuel problems

My freind Inhaireted a passat V6 that has like 50k on it but their seems to be a fuel problem, not nowing much about veedubs I look to TR for help. The fuel pump isint turning on, are their any common problems or solutions you all know about? Thanks in advance

What year is the car and can you smell gas? Can you be a little more in depth?

The fuel pump should be located under the rear seats in the plastic looking thing ... you need some large channel locks to twist it up . ONce you get it up pull it up and check all the connectios and get a voltmeter and see if you have power . You also might want to check the fuse under the dash .. sometimes they stick a fuse for saftey reasons

Yeah, their is no fuel at all, turned the car on "on" and loosend fuel lines but no gas cam out. Ill tell him to check the pump and some other things. Thanks.

First try cursing and spiting about the problem for an hour then hit the fuel pump with a hammer. *Not too hard now* Walla, it'll work.

when in doubt , hit it with a hammer . Thats the VW way
