Default Where to get interior parts...

Hey All-

I've inherited a 2001 1.8t from my wife now that she's taken over my Jeep. This thing needs a good bit of work, starting with some interior pieces... For example, in one quick move I managed to break the handle off the doorcard insert on the drivers side and rip the insert out of the doorcard. I also need a number of other interior pieces in black and may look into doing a few other things to it... any suggestions? This is my first VW after having Hondas, Fords and a Subaru.

Thanks in advance!

VWVortex is a good place to start but you have to be careful. I've been on there a short while and have already been somewhat burned on a purchase.

thanks guys! I checked vwvortex, nothing there yet that suits what I need... but will keep checking.

good to see you're still around, Alan

...and if anyone has any suggestions of how to make this car more fun, I'm all ears. it needs some repair, then thinking about suspension, different OEM alloys and a little engine work...

I was suprised to see you were still lurking around as well! I've been on a TR leave of absense for quite a while. Started poking around after I found some Mustang parts that I needed to get rid of, then I found the Jetta...and here I am again.

Vortex is a great resource and you can learn quite a bit about your car there (especially DIY crap), but there is a ton of bullshit to wade through on that site as well.

Junk yards and part-outs, keep your eye on Craigslist. I just picked up both front door panels with all electronics and a complete glove box from a local part-out for 80 bucks.

Oh and be careful when removing the driver side window control panel, the pins on that thing break for no reason haha.
