NEED HELP BAD!!! 98 JETTA 2.0 limp mode?!
Hey v-dubbers, I have a super annoying problem right now with my 1998 jetta gl 2.0 manual.
It was running great, except it was kinda slow to start sometimes... so my dad decided to charge my battery and fill it up with water and all that good stuff.
Well, when I took the battery charger off and started it, it started right up..but was idling at only 300-400rpm's and sounded like it was only on 2-3 cylinders.
I tried to drive it, hoping that maybe it was some nasty gas or something i had to clear out...but that didnt help at all. Everytime i try to drive it when I get to about 15mph in 1st gear, the engine just totally cuts out. I can push in the clutch and rev it to redline, but once there is a load, the engine cuts out at the same RPM everytime. It does it in every gear too.
I went to advanced auto, and had them scan my check engine light, and they said it was a cam angle sensor, along with a throttle position sensor.
Does this sound right? I dont want to go through the hassle of fixing my cam angle sensor, and have that not be the problem. Has this happened to any of you before, or do you have any ideas on what might be the problem?
I would REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate any help. thanks.

no sir. just filled up the battery with water.
anyway to know if its the coilpack? I removed the spark plug wires one at a time to see if it was a spark problem, but it seemed to be running on all 4 cylinders. Maybe its getting a super weak spark though?
im so lost, and its been doing this almost 2 weeks now. its driving me nuts. thank you!

i changed the battery completely and somehow its running a lot better. now my only problem is when I turn on the AC the cars idle stutters from about 600-900rpm's.
any ideas on why the ac would do that? and thanks a ton guys!
