So my shift knob and boot are the original from '96 so they are gross and falling apart. I've looked up a couple and I've seen of course the Mk3 OEM replacement which bores me and the Mk4 one which isn't too exciting either.

Where do you go for a quality shift knob/boot replacement, I don't mind getting an OEM boot but I want a different knob, I wouldn't mind the golf ball OEM one but it doesn't fit my car as far as I know and I don't want a 6-speed pattern on my 2.0 5-speed car.

What are you guys recommendations? I don't really know where the Euro sites are for aftermarket parts and I don't want some crap eBay special (unless it's not crap of course) that is gonna suck worse than my torn up stuff.

I have a nice aluminum knob off of my MK3, it also has engraved 5 speed pattern.

 

Pictures? The boot can hang out but my knob is about done.

I can't find ANYTHING for a different shift knob for a Mk3 other than same as stock or ugly eBay nonsense.

thats what i have...i just didnt cut the shifter...i used some whire around the bottom of the boot on the lip...works like a champ

be like me. find a golf ball, drill a hole in it and shove it on your shifter. lol
