Default 1600cc D.P. Wanted

Looking for a 1600 cc dual port beetle engine, working or not. Just want to save from paying a $100 core for a rebuilt. Rusted solid would be fine.

Your best bet for something like that would be to hit Copher's or another type of junk yard. $100 doesn't sound bad for a core charge on a new motor. I've probably got over $2k in the motor in my Fastback. That's more than I paid for the car. :o

What's it going into?

I've got a '77 standard beetle I'm looking to get back on the road and start as a project car. although the body isn't as nice as the chassis. Ideally I'd like to put a pre-67 body in the 77 with the IRS. It also has front clip damage (that's what happens without bumpers) that I'd like to fix with a one-piece fiberglass tilt front end.

That's cool.. I just finished building a nice 1776cc for my Fastback, but I just found out that it doesn't fit properly. I switched to dual Dell'Orto 40 carbs, and one of the air cleaners hits the body, so I really can't drive it yet. Plus I have a few more bugs to work out with the car. I've been thinking about selling it (without motor) so that I can start on my dune buggy. I have a manx style fiberglass buggy that needs a new chassis and I want to build a 1914cc or 2110cc turbo motor for it. :o Should be fun..

What chassis do you need for a Manx? I also have a 74' super that's not being used... for anything.
