NEED HELP!! Trying to lower my golf
I need help fast. Im trying to lower my golf and im stuck. I started with the driver side and finished that with no problem. I then went to the passenger side and got stuck. My question is do i have to pull the whole axle out inoder to lower the front passenger side. or is there an easier way. I noticed that there are six star nuts that connect the axle to the drive shaft if i take those off will all the oil fall out of the transmission or will i be ok. Please let me know as soon as possible. i hate having my car just siting in the garage. Its a 2000 golf 2.0.

Dude put down the wrench . You have to have a special tool to remove the strut from the pass side ( or call me to help but just remember to tighten down the lugs after were done )

When you drop the suspension on the passenger side the axle will sometimes contact the subframe and keep it from dropping enough. Loosen the two subframe bolts on the passenger side all the way and put them back in 2 full turns. This will allow the suspension to drop down further so you can remove the strut assembly. Remember to tighten them back up afterwards! You cant believe how many times people call with knocking noises and they forget to tighten the subframe back up.
