Default Need You Guys Help!!!

im still new to this vw tuning, so i dont wanna come out and post like a noob but i have a concern. i dont know what it is, but ever since i got my car chipped, there has been a loud hissing noise in the engine bay, around the intake manifold, anyone know what this is, or what this could be. i thought it could be a vaccuum line but the car is boosting fine. i just dont wanna assume its fine and let my car die... please help...

sounds like a small leak somewhere. could be causing that LEAN code that you had before i flashed your car. Dont worry your car wont die .. do you hear it when the car is just sitting at idle?? listen around the motor and you should be able to pinpoint the hiss and then GRAB around hoses and stuff to see if you can stop the hissing noise (leaky hose).

Default this is upsetting

I fould that one of the plastic hoses had a slit in it. When covered it I still hear this hissing noise, it sounds like its from underneath the intake manifold...

it could be the intake but i dont think it would run right with a intake manifold leak even if at all. it SHOULDN'T hurt your car if its running ok. maybe its always made that noise and you JUST noticed it possibly?

good chance its one of the breather hoses. they go bad on higher mileage 1.8T cars, the oil breaks down the rubber/plastic and they leak. here is a link to the various hoses..
