Turbo vr6 ?????????
Contemplating turboing my stock mk4 gti , i have pretty much everything to do it , injectors, garrett 60 trim(small for that motor i know might go bigger ) , all i have to get is / fmic kit , cast manifold , and get all the feed and drain lines made. Seems pretty cut and dry my question is i was planning running 10-12 lbs daily , is that a good amount of boost for a dd , will the motor take that much being stock ? And what should i do about a tune , who does chip tunes for mk4's ,/ Or is this not a good idea and just leave it N/A
just want some input

As for the rest of the set up, well you're going to find that 30# injectors are going to be a little small, but if you are just trying to get the set-up up and running they'll work. The turbo is definitely going to be a limiting factor. Not sure what A/R the 60 trim you have is but that turbo will not pull hard to redline. You honestly need something along the lines of a 60-1 or gt35R (A/R .82) to make some good power.
Also doing a low compression headgasket/spacer would be one of the best things you could do. No need for ARP hardware on 10psi, be careful with the stock plastic intake manifold they've been known to crack/explode with too much pressure.

If that car is not an R model you will pretty much be fucked on traction. I have a hard time with a usless 1st gear car on a stage 2 MKV. I could not imagine a Turbo V6. Kind of pointless if you ask me. My next car with any sort of power will be AWD for sure. I have learned my lesson after about 4 turbo fwd cars. I have learned I am just dumb. My last FWD with almost 300hp I at least ran Drag radials all the time but they wear out so damn fast.
Next cars will be an AWD A4 for the wife and an AWD S4 or S5 for me.

Turbo VR6 is the most economical power available - and the most fun. Traction is a problem - but once you're moving it is not too bad. Boost control in the lower gears helps a great deal - 12PSI or less and wheel spin can be limited.
