Why twin air intake?

What I mean to say, why not use only single air filter and not two. I've seen pics with twin intakes, but no real explanation anywhere.

There is only one twin intake that Im aware of is SWG's twin intake for the G60. Other than that I know of nothing.

I realize I didn't mention that it's not for my car at all. The question was just for my own knowledge guys. Sorry for the confusion, but I don't need such a thing as twin intake on my car. Thanx

Yeah i'm considering the Forge unit as it has dyno'd about 8whp than the next best intake for the MKV.
