if they are smart they'll give the option. But knowing VW probably only getting the DSG here.

DSG with Launch Control on AWD is unstopable.

I don't care for the new body changes but a 2.0t with AWD is badass. Although if it's not offered in 4 door for a family guy like me, there is always the Audi A3 which has always had this combo. Wish I woulda got the A3 AWD 2.0t and probably will when I decide to trade this car later on.

6,000 RPM clutch drops seemed to work well for me in my MK4 R32 (1.91 -1.93 60 foots completely stock). There are several reasons why I wouldn't want a DSG car. If they can keep the weight down and offer it with a manual, I will pick one up.

Launches like that will surely kill something in the driveline one launch too many. The DSG is made to launch properly. I'll have to find some launch vids for you.

Don't get me wrong if I ever own a badass car that does not have a DSG type tranny, I am a manual guy at heart and will buy a manual. As long as I can get a DSG its no contest for me.

You've driven one, were you not impressed? I challenge anyone who has not to go test drive an r32 or r20 when they come out and use launch control. Use those paddle shifters too. Very fun.

HPA Motorsports Inc. - DSG Performance Programming

Roughly 5K launches safely with no driver error. A driver can sure fuck up a manual launch. I think these are VR6 launches mostly. Look at those Turbo TT's. A 2.0T with some big power is crazy.

I've driven plenty of DSG cars and have used the launch control. Its a pretty cool trick and system. But for the people that are still hardcore enthusiasts, people that would normally buy a $35K+ golf, I can guarantee they'll want/prefer a manual over DSG. Not to mention it takes skill to launch a manual car compared to something thats essentially does everything for you.
