Default So i was thinking about buying a passat...

Title pretty much says it all, its a 2.0L Turbo 2006 passat. I love how the car drives, my only question is, can I tune it for the track? How much horse power do you think I can get out of it, all the reviews and info i find on the car are more so about comfort, can't really get any performance info, im selling my 1990 nissan 300zx to get this (NA) and i was hoping for comparable speeds.
Thanks for any and all help guys, also any other suggestions as far as cars would be greatly appreciated.

The 2.0t is very mod friendly. I am sure you could get suspension for the passat, but it is a LARGE fwd car, so it isn't going to be ideal for any track use.

Exactly, if you are looking in that price range for a newer VW why not a get a newer GTI or evr a GLI? Both smaller, lighter, even more parts available, dont need as much power to go fast. Overall a better "track car" platform than the passat is.

What kind of track would this Passat be seeing? It really depends on whether you are out there to have fun (a Passat would be fine) or to actually be competitive (look at the GLI/GTI or maybe an A4).

Passat = heavy.

My GTI ownes my A4 both with the 2.0t. Those sedans are heavy. I was very surprisesd how fast my GTI was when it was stock (APR stg1 now). Pluss you can haul more shit in a hatch.
