thoughts about vanagons...
hello Vdubers!
i used to own a scirocco back in the day. a 87 16v, thing was sweet. well now i drive a nissan 240sx.
anyways, i was wondering if anyone here had or has a vanagon, preferably a 88 or somewhere around that. i really want one. hahaha. i want it as a tow/support vehicle. if someone has one could you tell me if they can tow anything bigger than a scooter? lol. or would it be better to do a suby swap into it to have the extra power to tow?
also, if you have one, have you done any thing to the suspension? like lower it? i want to lower it too.
any info will help! thanks.

actually, yesterday i decided im not gonna do a vanagon. they are just not strong enough to pull a car on a trailer. plus i think im moving to the mountains so there is no way. lol my new project will be either a 60s ford econoline cabover or a 60s chevy van cabover. atleast with these vans i can have the power of a v8 swap with a good drive train.
on the other hand though, im contemplating starting a scirocco project. most likely a scirocco 1 with coilovers, high comp 8v, itbs, rebuilt tranny with lsd, stripped, caged, and aero similar to the euro hill climbing scirocco 1s.
look around minute 3 and you will see a yellow scirocco.
