Ok Im ready for something a little different. Im keeping my same equipment I just want to arrange it differently an get rid of the wiring nightmare from hell. I plan on building a false floor to mount the amp in the trunk. Heres a setup I love -
I would love to do something similar only my sub wouldnt be exposed because of it being a stealthbox. I also want to mount the DVD/MP3 player behind the 40% side of the backseat. Id like to relocate the display for that as well as the remote eye. Im hoping santa will bring me an XM reciever and I think itd be cool to integrate that into the space where most of you have sunroof controls. Your thoughts ideas suggestions and complaints are all welcome.

this will be long but its kind of cool.

one set up that i think is awesome is making a false deck panel out of fiber glass and using that to house your subs. basicly you take the stock rear deck lid and make a template then you use 2x4s to make it a tad taller then what you will need. you then lay out the fiber for the edges and spray in the fiber glass. the bottom will be a fiberglass piece as well but will be made last. once it is sprayed you then break away the 2x4s and begin molding it into shape with a 3 inch da sander.

then you decide on how many subs your going to use then make the top piece thus cutting a hole in it for the sub or subs. make one small hole on one of the sides for your wire and the run said wire and if needed spray some excess fiberglass back over it and work it into the box by sanding it out.

what you aare left with is a box that is semi light weight because it is stricly fiberglass and one piece of wood. a box thats very paintable and re-paintable. and its something that i have only seen done one time. now you can have your subs fire down or up thats up to you. i would have them fire up so you would get the small bounce of the back glass for a nice pitch to the front.

this leaves you with plenty of room in the floor to add amps or caps and distibution blocks and any other things like a med kit for shows or things like that. or even another tv screen for car show lookers veiwing pleasure. it sounds like alot of work but i have thought about this damn thing long and hard and at the most it would take a day to make the box and then paint would be of course another day if not 2 depending on what way you go.
