depends a lot on exactly what kind of drop you want. on my mk3 Cabrio, i wanted a 2" drop w/ close to oem spring rate as i didnt wanna sacrifice the ride quality. i dont do any "performancee" driving. i just wanted it lower. i dropped about 200 bucks. if you wanna go stiffer or lower, it will be more expensive.

BTW there's a set of B&G Lowering springs for your car on ebay for 100 bucks + 40 shipping. i say at that price you cant pass it up. not sure how low they go but for 140 bucks i say get em. (search B5 Audi Springs)

Yes, they just replace your stock springs. If you have the OEM sport suspension, every aftermarket spring I have seen will only get you another 0.25 inch at most. Your best bet is coilovers if you want it low.

for only a .25" drop its not even worth the 140 bucks, i guess find out if you have sport suspension first, easiest way i know is call your local audi dealership and see if they can run the vin to get what options are on your car. if you don't have sport suspension, i'd just go with lowering springs, according to B&G their spring will give you a 1.6" drop FR and RR. i sy go lower. just save up and get coilovers. rummage the vw/audi forums for a god used set. you'll be happier in the long run and it will handle better. GL with your search
