so im getting a rattle sometimes when i mess around with my acceleration ... im guessing water pump ... how much of a bitch is it to change one on a 2.0 ..has anyone done this before ?

Check the heat shield on the back side of the motor over the exhaust manifold. It will rust and crack over time, then under acceleration it will rattle.

so i checked it out thats heat shield was fine thanks tho the one around my cat was making some noise but i fixed that ...but i still hear the rattle pretty sure its the water pump and out of nowhere my car has started to run rich wtf .... anyone have any suggestions ?

I don't see why you think it is the waterpump. I have never heard of a waterpump rattle under acceleration. If the water pump is going bad, the noise should be consistent, not under acceleration only. If you rev the car while in neutral does it make the noise?

na it was that cat heatshield rattling im just gonna change the pump anyways and probly my t belt also if i take the covers off and i need to .. but now my problem is the check engine light on and the running rich 02 sensor maybe ? what do u think bisquit since your the only one helping me .... i just got into vdubbs after many honda years ... i just need someone to point me in the right direction ...

Have someone scan it. If it is running rich, could be O2 or MAF maybe.

imma do that today .. hopefully its o2 cause maf is like 300 bucks ...
