How long are these good for? Its been running sluggish lately and was told it was the wires then I took it to Bert Smith and they said it was fine. It has 55000 miles. Any thoughts?

 

from what ive heard and seen vr6 plug wires are good for supposedly 100000 miles but i dont belive it so if your in doubt jsut get some new ones but there kinda pricy

 

that just happened to mine and getting new ones did the trickthey cost 106.00 dollars(that was at reeves)and my car has about the same mileage.

 

JettaKnight11 is right it sound like the plug wires. You rarely see them last more than 40k-50k miles. Change the plugs while youre in there. You can go with aftermarket wires as an alternative. Most aftermarket wires have a lifetime warranty where stock wires are seen as wear and tear items by the dealer.

Most all aftermarket wires are the same. Just make sure whatever ones you get use the factory Beru or Bremi ends those are the best quality. Dont go with anything larger than 8mm its overkill and they wont fit in the stock wire holders.
