Default ac question

just got a question about my ac system not workin appropriate... the compressor clutch engages but there is no cold air coming out of the vents .... is there any way to check if my compressor is messed up? any adviced would be really appreciated ... thanks a lot...
BTW i got a 00 jetta gls 2.0, the AC light in the climate control is good also ...

Did you check the system for leaks?

are the fans working, you really need to put some guages on it to really tell what is going on, it could be low on freeon, the compressor could not be working correctly, expansion valve could be bad, there is a lot that could be wrong you need to get some guages on it to really telll,
