Default Turbo noise at cold start???

So, I'm new to the Audi family and don't know all the quirks yet. I have a 2000 1.8t w/60k that makes a whining noise on cold start (first thing in the morning). Once it's warmed up for a few it's fine. Oil is Mobil 1 and its full. Ideas? I assume this is not normal?

you have a leak in the secondary air injection system, one of the hoses have a crack in them or the pump is split, its on the pass side under the bumper, that system only works on cold starts, its a black pump with 2 1" size hoses coming off it. and they are plastic and they always break,

most likely, they make a lot extra noise when they have a crack in them, its probably the problem, im betting a hose is cracked or popped off or something

I'll look at it tonight and post what I find. It definitely sounds like it could be a leak.
